Jamaicans are set to receive their first shipment of Covid-19 vaccines in February.

The government was advised by the COVAX facility that Jamaica would receive around 200,000 doses of the UK AstraZeneca vaccine.

The Minister of Health Dr. Tufton said that this means some 125,000 Jamaicans will receive the Covid-19 vaccine by the end of February into March.

Those receiving the vaccine first will be front-line workers, then vulnerable persons, including those 60 and older.

This is positive news for Jamaica, as they were set to receive the vaccine by April.
