Real Cayman News is back! What we are doing differently!

(RCN) Real Cayman News is set to relaunch traditional news coverage on Monday 14th of February 2022. This comes after RCN temporarily closed in late December of 2021.
“We decided to close in December, so we can re-evaluate, and work out how we can make RCN a viable news business in Cayman. We got rid of 2 email addresses, which also provide significant savings. We made several changes to our business model, including reducing our costs so we can afford to run our website.” John Fleming, News Director.
The RCN website changed significantly, moving down to a WordPress Premium subscription, allowing RCN to save money on website fees. RCN also decided to spend less on advertising, but rely on natural traffic, and sharing on social media.
“We will be using a different WordPress subscription, but after our traffic grows, we can accept advertisers and move back to our old website. This site will still provide quality news content, as well as editorials and press releases.” John Fleming.
News bylines will be posted 1-2 times per day, and Cayman Islands Government/RCIPS press releases will also be regularly posted. If you have any story ideas, you can email john.fleming@realcaymannews.com
