After the past difficult weeks, marked by episodes of crime and violence that has upset and saddened Grand Cayman, a new wave of colors and brightness is returning to the streets of the island.
On Saturday 7 May, in fact, the 2022 edition of the Batabano Carnival will be staged, with a mix of music, colors and traditions which, as every year since 1983, celebrates the cultural diversity of the Caymanians, descendants from over 100 different nations, who contributed on making the island as we know it today.
The Batabano carnival represents one of the most relevant and attractive of its kind around the Caribbean: the iconic dresses, the vibrant dances and festive music attract thousands of locals and tourists, who land into the island to enjoy in this incredible experience.
The parade will start at Seven Mile Public Beach to Festival Green, from 1pm to 6pm.
As mentioned on the official Batabano Carnival website, with public gathering restrictions still in place at this time, the parade format could face some minor variations compared to the previous years, reassuring, however, that the festival will not lack on its usual passion, love and vibes, on a sensational event which is never so needed and awaited like this year in the Cayman Islands.
